The LG Cookie Plus is Just a Taste of What LG Has in Their Locker

With the unrivalled success of the LG KP500, LG are continuing the line with the Cookie Plus. The phone boasts a 3.0inch WQVGA resolution touch screen which is great for first time touch screen users and the playful interface provides a very user friendly experience. LG should consider themselves experts at producing these affordable touch screen sets, the phone looks good, feels durable and performs quite well with 3G support and MPEG4 video recording.

The Cookie Plus has bee designed to look good in Black, Silver and Purple, with a smooth hardened plastic casing and curved slim line shape the device is a pleasure to handle and feels like it could endure a nuclear war. The 3 mega pixel as mentioned earlier, will shoot videos which can be uploaded to your favourite sharing sites, the camera is also equipped with a digital zoom for those all important close ups. The Cookie Plus delivers a number of unique featurettes like the Editable Screenshot; you can take a snap shot of a specific web page, edit it and share it with friends.

The device can handle up to 16GB of external memory thanks to the microSD slot, this is great as the phone can manage up to 1000 phonebook entries, a built in music player will playback multiple audio codec's while the video player handles video files equally well. The entertainment section of the Cookie Plus also supports a FM radio tuner so you can keep up to date with your favourite shows. LG have enabled the phone to get 3G and 2G network coverage, but it also has EDGE/GPRS class 10 to fall back on.

The messaging experience on the Cookie Plus is pretty damn good, support for basic SMS and MMS is odiously in place, but serious messengers can use EMS and e-mail. Flipping the phone horizontally triggers the accelerometer and sends the phone into landscape mode which is perfect for messaging; the on-screen QWERTY keyboard is easy to control and sports well sized touch sensitive buttons, typing out messages is generally quite a quite affair which is great for messaging on the go.

The cartoon-style overlay has some embedded applications allowing you to manage your Twitter, Facebook and Flickr accounts, overall the SNS integration isn't bad, but you know if it was any better you would be forking out alot more for the handset. One of the standout features on the Cookie Plus includes the LiveSquare where your favourite contacts are shown as animated avatars roaming around a mini scene. To communicate with LiveSquare animations you simply drag and drop one of them on the desired form of communication from the underlining tool bar.

There have been many questions as to when are LG going to start really competing with some of the top dogs like Sony Ericsson, Nokia and Samsung, but LG are doing well by sticking to what they know and delivering a product nobody else has even thought of; an affordable alternative. The LG Cookie Plus is just a taste of what LG have in there locker; it supports basic touch functionality by supplying users with a fun interface to play with, and the 3G coverage will be a huge selling point as some previous LG phones have lacked it.
